Viorica Pintilie is a magical presence on stage.
She has been performing since she was 15, having a bachelor’s degree in Music and a master’s degree in Jazz.
In her story as an artist and in her education she tackled various genres until finally settling for Jazz, a style in which she finds her inner self. In 2013 she performed at the Targu Mures Jazz Festival and at the Sibiu Jazz Fest. In 2014 she played for Radio Targu Mures in a live concert within their “Jazz & Classic Evenings” series. In 2015 she performed at The Gardner Jazz Festival in Iasi. In 2016 she was awarded “The Special Prize of the Jury” for her perfomance at the Sibiu Jazz Festival. Outside Romania she performed in The Republic of Moldavia, Czech Republic, Portugal, Poland and Bulgaria.
Viorica is involved in various live projects where she always speaks through her music, creating a warm and intimate atmoshphere and managing to embed her audience within her musical stories. She has collaborated with Liviu Negru, Alexandru Olteanu, Michael Acker, Tavi Scurtu, Paolo Profeti, Dan Nicolau, Ciprian Pop, Pedro Negrescu, Sorin Romanescu, Adrian Flautistu, Ciprian Parghel, Catalin Milea, Jimmy Cserkesz and Iulian Nicolau.
In 2014 and 2015 she was involved in the “Beatles’n’Jazz” project alongside Cantaloop Band and Cornel Ilie. The partnership with Cantaloop Band also involved her work in the “Elton John Plays Jazz” proeject. She was also part of the Brazilian music project “Oceano” together with George Natsis, Vlad Popescu and Ciprian Pop.
Viorica was also involved in the complex “3 Circles” project alongside Jimmy Cserkesz and Ati de Chile. Altough a trio with a vast backround in Jazz, they also tackled Funk, Neo Soul and Trip Hop.
She recently released her first album, “Stories of the Heart”. Find it on Bandcamp.
